Improve your technical skills and soccer IQ, no matter your position or current ability. Our private training program aim to have every player take their soccer skills to the next level regardless of your current ability.
We offer private one on one and small group training (2-4 players). Those sessions are simple, to the point, and consistent.
Technical mastery from deliberate training is the secret weapon to true player creativity and confidence.
What You Need to Know
Compare your youth soccer training schedule to those around the world and in upper level training academies. Most United States youth players practice twice a week for one to 1 ½ hours. This is done during a season that lasts around 12 weeks. Play spring and fall and your total training time might be as little as 48 hours a year.
Compare this to some development programs where young players might receive over 700 hours a year. A simple reinforcement of the fact that much of the technical training a youth player needs must come from outside organized soccer.
If we’re honest and considerate of time constraints, team practice is NOT the ideal place to “learn” things. It is a place where you try the things you’ve learned outside of team practice. Individual concepts and skills may be introduced at practice, but it’s very rarely going to be the environment those concepts and skills are truly mastered.
As a matter of fact, as a player gets older and more advanced, the less time is spent during team practices on learning, mastering and developing technical proficiency. The time is mostly spent on team building and rehearsing game scenarios and other team activities.
Repetition, habit-formation, skill acquisition, consistency — all of these are accomplished outside of formal, organized playing environments. Our private sessions give players the tools necessary to become creative players and confident problem solvers in practice and in games.
Our philosophy behind the FTA private training methodology is to mimic movements, skills, and recruit sequences that will undoubtedly be used in meaningful competition. Our technical sessions have a heavy workload and require mental toughness, persistence, application, discipline, and above all – consistency.
These workouts usually last 60-75 minutes and are very challenging. This is where true technical learning and development happen. Then the players can “practice” what they’ve learned during practices and games with their team.
